Sikh Research Institute (SikhRI) is pleased to announce the results of the immense 10-month-long curation effort to produce the most immersive multimedia exhibition of its kind — IN5 Experium: The Golden Temple of Amritsar, which everyone in the Greater Toronto Area is now welcome to visit.

Leveraging the possibilities of the state-of-the-art projection technology, the exhibit covers nearly 30,000 sq. ft. and seeks to recreate a multi-sensory feeling of being at the Sri Harimandar Sahib complex. Using interactive controls, videos, images, sound, and texture, from the pre-recorded kirtan timelapse that condenses 24 hours of actual footage into 30 minutes to delightful scents — everything in the space is geared towards complete recreation of the experience.

Curating content for IN5 Experium presented SikhRI with a unique opportunity to share the Sikhi paradigm and magnificence of Sri Harimandar Sahib complex with thousands of people bringing awareness that may lead to transformation.

— Jaswinder Singh Chadha, SikhRI Board Chair

Besides the high-tech projection of the Darbar Sahib (The Golden Temple, Sri Harimandar Sahib, and Darbar Sahib are used interchangeably), the multimedia exhibition dives into Sikh history, philosophy, and lifestyle using smart walls and an audio guide. These educational materials are designed to prepare visitors for a richer experience in both English and Panjabi.

IN5 Experium: The Golden Temple of Amritsar content was curated by four SikhRI team members: Surender Pal Singh, Jasleen Kaur, Harinder Singh, and Inni Kaur. The organization of the exhibition was graciously undertaken by PDA Trade Fairs Pvt Ltd, which has been producing B2B trade fairs, conferences, and seminars globally for the last 18 years.

IN5 Experium: The Golden Temple of Amritsar is open now until June 15, 2019, Monday to Thursday from 1:30 to 8:30 p.m. and Friday to Sunday from 11 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. It is located at 70 Peel Centre Dr. in Brampton, ON.

To share a glimpse of the experience, SikhRI has created a short video clip.

If you have any questions, feedback, or suggestions regarding SikhRI’s involvement in IN5 Experium: The Golden Temple of Amritsar, please reach out to Inni Kaur at inni.kaur@sikhri.org.
