Sabad is Infinite; we are very finite. This is our understanding at the moment, which was different yesterday and may evolve tomorrow, as we deepen our relationship with the Sabad.

Sabad is Infinite; we are very finite. This is our understanding at the moment, which was different yesterday and may evolve tomorrow, as we deepen our relationship with the Sabad. In this trans-creation, we have chosen to keep the repeating words in the Sabad same. We aspire to learn and retain the Divine attribute as used in the original Sabad and avoid terms like God or Lord.

1 Reality realized by Eternal Perfection’s Grace!

The Vedas and the Scriptures are only make-believe;

O my brothers, they do not relieve the anxiety of the heart.

If you will center yourself on the Divine, even for just a breath,

then you shall see the Divine before you. || 1 ||

O human being, search your own heart every day;

do not wander around in confusion.

This world is just a magic-show;

no one will be holding your hand.  || 1 ||  Reflect  ||

Reading and studying falsehood, people are happy;

in their ignorance, they speak nonsense.

The True Creator is within the creation;

it is not just the dark-skinned Krishna of legends.  || 2 ||

Through the Tenth Gate flows the stream of nectar;

bathe within.

Serve the Divine forever; use your eyes;

see the Divine everywhere.  || 3 ||

The Divine is the purest of the pure;

only through doubt could there be another.

O Kabir, compassion flows from the Compassionate One;

the One who knows all.  || 4 || 1 ||

Reflections:

As I listen to the Hukam, my mind drifts to 15th-century Hindustan….

Bhagat Kabir ji says: O brothers of mine, argue not which scripture is better. Reading the scriptures to prove your arguments is a false reading. It will not relieve your anxiety and will not connect you to the Divine. Argue not about the ways of the Divine, for you have not experienced Unity.

Let go of the need to debate.

Center yourself.

If you contemplate on the Divine even for a brief moment, you will be blessed with spiritual knowledge.

Search within yourself daily.

Evaluate your thoughts and actions.

Know that the Divine abides within.

The river of Nectar lies within you. Connect and bathe within.

Your anxieties will depart when you experience the Divine Light.

The world is a magic show. Everything is temporary.

So, attach not yourself to that which is not eternal.

Serve Creation selflessly. See the One in all.

Know that the Divine is formless and pervades through all of the creation. This understanding comes through Grace.

My learning: Do not get into arguments trying to find faults with other faiths and then gloating about it. For the One is the same in all. Instead, focus on cleansing your mind and find the Nectar within.

No More Blue Stars

In recent years, diasporic Sikhs have been moving to consciously avoid using the terms Operation Blue Star or Holocaust and instead use terms like the Battle of Amritsar, genocide, or Ghallughara when speaking about June and November 1984.
