“The Sevadar training does a fantastic job of breaking down complex theological ideas to the essence of Sikhi in our own words. It helped me identify a lot of the underlying motivations for my work and its impact. I would highly recommend this program to anyone wanting to serve other as a Sikh.” — Neha Singh, New York, NY
“This seminar helps us to inspire us towards doing selfless service/seva with better understanding and approach as envisaged by the Sikh Gurus. Hence, the seminar inspires us to think much deeper and help us to make paradigm shifts to radically think and find ways to do our seva more effectively that helps humanity as a whole. This seminar has helped me and inspired me intensely. I would highly recommend this seminar to all walks of life.” — Mohan Singh, Atlanta, GA
“Showed me that I have to be accountable in terms of performing Seva. I learnt that Seva is not a onetime thing, but a part of my being. Seva, I’ve learnt is not just performed at the Gurdwara. Activism can also be Seva. I would recommend this course to anyone.” — Robb Singh Gill, Surrey, BC, Canada

Sevadar: Inspiring Activism For the past 25 years, worldwide Sikh activities and events have effectively created an awareness of the Sikh faith, now the fifth largest religion in the world. However, mere awareness of Sikhī is no longer enough – active and engaged leadership is required to re-establish the Sikh spirit within our youth and throughout our nation.
Sevādār directly addresses these needs through a one-day instructional seminar that inspires Sikhs to become positive, informed activists within their communities. Sevādār trains activists to become engaged, well informed and effective leaders. It implores attendees to continuously develop themselves while inspiring others to make positive individual and institutional changes. Sevādār facilitates the development of one’s capabilities to impart the Sikh vision within a variety of settings. Attendees are challenged to not only act or talk like a Sikh, but to advance their thinking through questioning, self-exploration, and engaged learning.
Who is Sevadar for? Are you a: • Community member wanting to learn more about how you can serve your local community and communities at large? • Person in a role of leadership within a non-profit, corporate, grass-roots or educational organization? • Person in a role of leadership within a Sikh student organization or Gurdwara?
Are you looking for an opportunity to: • Be inspired, motivated and energized? • Learn more about the fundamental value of sevā as activism in Sikhī? • Delve into Sikhī’s revolutionary history and focus on the sevā/ activism of our Gūrūs and other Sikh role models? • Engage in critical discussions and develop avenues of inspiring your community into action? • Connect with others who want to bring about positive change and a more progressive future for Sikhs and other communities?
