The Gurmat Sangit Darbar which is being held on Saturday, 26 August and Sunday, 27 August 2006, at the Palatine Gurduara sahib in the Chicago area, is a tribute to the Guru tradition. It is also an opportunity for select kirtanias from across North America to present their skills and share the gift of gurbani with the Sangat. It will provide a venue and a unique opportunity for the Sangat to listen to, learn about and contribute to the propagation of this spiritual art form. Come and be moved by the legacy that has shaped the Sikh religious tradition for over five centuries. In addition to kirtan performed according to proper rag format, there will be instrument displays set up. a hands on workshop on the appreciation of Gurmat Sangit will be presented. It will definitely be a unique event, one that you don’t want to miss!
