Australia and New Zealand Tour

SikhRI spent a week and a half in the southern hemisphere, touring through Melbourne, Sydney, Wellington, and Auckland. Presenting 11 events on topics addressing a broad range of topics from "Inspiring Gurmat in You and Your Family", "Sikhi and Modernity", "Reviving the Gurduara", and "Growing up Sikh in the West", SikhRI was overwhelmed by the enthusiastic and passionate crowds that turned out.
A special thanks to our coordinators and organizers on the ground in Australia and New Zealand, and to everyone who brought their energy to an event.

Teacher Training

Over the three days of 3-5 November, Jasmine Kaur and Harliv Kaur led a teacher training online for 30 educators from the Central Sikh Gurdwara Board Singapore in Malaysia. The training included a wide diversity of topics relevant to classroom educators such as: using Sikh celebrations as teaching opportunities, effective techniques for language learning in the classrooms, and questioning techniques that engage the attention and curiosity of children.

Which Candle to Light?

SikhRI was in the Pacific Northwest in late October for a series of events in BC and Seattle, including a parents dialogue, a Saneha community development workshop, and media interviews on radio and TV. You can watch footage of two talks on SikhRI's Vimeo channel: "Ghallughara and I" and "What is Sikhi to Me?" You can also watch footage of the Keynote address by Harinder Singh from the fundraising dinner hosted by SikhRI Canada on 29 October: "Which Candle to Light?"
