Tri State Events
Over the weekend of 8-11 March, SikhRI was in the Tri-State area for a series of interviews, workshops, and presentations. On 8 March, Harinder Singh gave an interview on the Mudda Show with host Harvinder Riar. The topic of the interview was, "Why Youth is Disowning Its Heritage?" and explored the ways that homeland youth can leverage their numbers, how to facilitate an emotional connection to the Panjab in diasporic youth, and the importance that both homeland and diasporic youth reject spiritually and politically corrupt leadership going forward.
On 10 March, 80 people attended a Saneha community development workshops at the Bridgewater Gurdwara. The topic of the day-long workshop facilitated by Harinder Singh was "Sidh Gost: Learning through Dialogue." Participants were guided through four extended sessions on topics such as "Bānī: Structure, Sidhs & Observations" and "Gurmukh, Manmukh, Satigur & Sabad."
The next day, Harinder Singh spoke on the topic "Will Spring Come?" The talk incorporated reflections on the Sikh New Year, International Women's Day and Sikh Environment Day. About 400 people attended the event, which was also held at the Bridgewater Gurdwara. You can watch video of this talk on SikhRI's Vimeo channel.
Before heading out, Harinder conducted one more interview on the Vad-Samvad show that evening with host Harvinder Riar. The topic of the discussion was "Preserving Your Heritage," and provided an opportunity to touch on topics such as Panjab and Panjabiyat, the value of the digital preservation of religous and cultural history, and the work being done by the Panjab Digital Library on this front.

Liv Webinars
On 3 March, Ravinder Singh presented a Liv Webinar to an audience of 39 on the topic: "Dharam: Is Sikhi a Religion?"
His presentation began with an examination of the following lines from Japji Sahib: Mannay mugg na challey panth / mannay dharam seti sanbandh / Faith treads not sectarian ways / Faith stays steadfast in the Way. [GGS: 3]
From there, the presentation explored questions such as: "Is Guru ji making a distinction between different religious traditions and Dharam?" and "Is Dharam different from the belief system that we acquire by sheer accident of birth?" and "Is Dharam concerned with belief or experience?"
If you didn't have the chance to attend this webinar, you can watch the archived recording here, on SikhRI's Liv webinar Vimeo channel.
Later this month, on 24 March, Surenderpal Singh will present another webinar on the topic of "Decoding the Numbers." Learn more about this presentation and register today by opening this flyer.
