Support SikhRI in 2012
We're steadily making our way closer to our goal, but we still need your help to show up our planning for SikhRI in 2012!
Please consider a contribution today if you're a fan of our curriculum and lesson plans, K-12 and Parents events, Liv webinars, outreach events, weekend workshops, and Sidak retreat!
Any amount is gratefully and humbly appreciated. As a small-but-mighty nonprofit we couldn't make it without the donations of our supporters and every member of our staff and board thanks you!

Inspiration in the Northeast
Over the weekend of 2-4 December, Harinder Singh was in New York and New Jersey for a weekend of talks. Starting in New Jersey at the Gurdwara Dashmesh Darbar in the city of Carteret, he presented to an audience of 300 on the topic "Baba Gurbaksh Singh Shahid" which examined the Panthak traditions of "death is the bride of the brave," in terms of the defense of the Darbar Sahib complex and the destruction of the Shahid Ganj memorial in the last decade. The next day he headed to Rutgers University to speak to an audience of 600 as part of Lahir 2011 on the topic "Asserting Your Sovereignty NOW."
To round out the weekend, Harinder Singh moved over to Richmond Hill, NY, where he spoke at Gurdwara Makhan Shah Lubana on "Inspiring Gurmat In You and Your Family" to an audience of 800. The session, designed especially for young families, explored the concept of Gurmat and how to reflect on those values individually in order to feel confident imparting them in your family.
Finally, moving over to the Sikh Cultural Society, 300 people attended his talk on "Becoming Sahibzade-like" which invited reflection on the appropriate response to Sikh response to injustice and recognition of duty.

About 50 young people attended the interactive talk which uses a sabad from Bhagat Kabir Ji as well as examples from nature to prompt questions and new ideas about the joys of forging an everyday relationship with Vahiguru.
